You have a right to apply for a re-rating with a view to obtaining a new and higher food hygiene rating at any time, provided that you have made the required improvements to resolve the non-compliances identified at the time of inspection.

There is no limit on the number of requests for re-ratings that you make. Prior to submitting a request you may wish to speak with the inspecting officer to confirm you have a full understanding of what is required.

What you need to know

The fee for requesting a re-visit is £211 which will be taken at the completion of this form.
This fee is non-refundable

We are unable to process a request for a re-visit unless we are in receipt of a completed form and the necessary payment.

• You must provide sufficient evidence in your request to show that the required improvements have been made
• An Officer will contact you prior to the re-visit to discuss these improvements
• We will make an unannounced visit within three months of receipt of the request
• You will receive a 'new' food hygiene rating based on the level of compliance that is found at the time of the re-visit. You should be aware that your rating could go up, down or remain the same
