Introduction
This form is in two parts, first part is The Hardship Relief. The second part is Minimal Financial Assistance.
Part 1: Hardship Relief
Hardship relief is a rate relief which may be awarded at the discretion of the Local Authority to ratepayers who are suffering financial hardship in payment of their Business Rates.
Tameside Council will only consider applications for hardship relief in exceptional circumstances from ratepayers whose business, if to cease trading would have a detrimental effect on the local community, for example, a village shop which serves local residents.
Please complete all the information on this form and upload the required evidence.
As part of your application, you will need to provide the following information:
• The last 2 years trading accounts of the business mentioned above.
• Copies of your last two months consecutive bank statements.
• Full details of any investment or debt owed by you/company.
• A detailed explanation of why the payment of Business Rates is causing you hardship.
• A recovery action plan detailing how you intend to return this business into profitability.
• Provide full details of your business and how it serves the local community.
• Details of any benefit(s) you may receive.
Part 2: Minimal Financial Assistance
You are being offered financial assistance under the Minimal Financial Assistance (MFA) exemption specified in section 36 (1) of the Subsidy Control Act 2022.
This allows a company or business to receive up to £315,000 of public funding over a rolling three-year period.
The following requested information is a mandatory requirement to enable you to receive the financial support offered.
This form is to be completed by the subsidy recipient.
